Band Bio

The Randy Lippincott Band is a fine tuned five piece unit with many years of experience performing Blues, Boogie, Soul and New Orleans party tunes. Utilizing tasteful guitar and vocals, with an exciting overlay of harmonica and powered by a mighty rhythm section, they deliver sets that range from favorite classics to the occasional obscure selection. We take pride in offering an alternative to the same old thing.

Randy Lippincott is a guitarist and vocalist and has performed since his teenage years. He has toured 18 countries on four continents. Most recently he has taken his Band to Jamaica,W.I. for performances on the Ocho Rios Jazz Festival and has performed with other artists on stages including the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the San Francisco Blues Festival, the Chicago Blues Festival and Germany’s Leverkuesner Blues Festival to name a few. On the Pocono Blues Festival’s stage Randy has performed with Johnny ‘Clyde’ Copeland, Ann Rabson, James Harmon, Louisiana Red, Clarence Hollimon and Carol Fran, Lowell Fulson and Shemekia Copeland. Other notable artists include Bo Didley, Mick Taylor, Johnny Littlejohn, Sonny Rhodes, Jimmy Rogers, Pinetop Perkins, Lazy Lester and John Hammond Jr. Randy has an extensive recording history with artists such as Johnny ‘Clyde’ Copeland, Lonnie Shields, Chris Beard, Ola Dixon, Johnny De Francesco and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1998 for his work on Luther ‘Guitar Jr.’ Johnson and the Magic Rockers’ ‘Got To Find A Way’ in the Traditional Blues category.

Joey ‘Hotbox’ Simon is on harmonica and is an exciting showman on his instrument. As well as being a long time member of the Randy Lippincott Band he has performed with Eddie Kirkland, the Bobby Kyle Band, Big Time Sarah, the Rhythm Rockers and Johnny Littlejohn. He can play the old traditional style like the masters, as well as bringing the instrument up to a contemporary art form.

Glenn Bickel plays piano and organ. He has played with various groups in the region, such as Roger Girke and the Funky Twisters and Leroy Hawks and the Hypnotics. Glenn is the newest member of the Band.

Jimmy Pritchard is on bass guitar and is one of the Delaware Valley’s most sought after sidemen. He has toured and recorded with Lonnie Shields and Sonny Rhodes and is a long time member of the Randy Lippincott Band. He provides a lower register and bottom that can’t be beat.

Bob Holden is the drummer with the unit and works hand in hand with the rhythm section as well as providing backing vocals. He is also one of the area’s most sought after musicians, having performed with the Dukes of Destiny, Quincy, Robert Hazard and Zydeco-a-go-go. He is the engine that drives the Band.
